Educational Community Garden

The Master Gardeners of York County, Winthrop University and the City of Rock Hill, SC, are collaborators in building and maintaining the Rock Hill Educational Community Garden (RHECG). At this instructional and learning garden, the partners provide an opportunity to develop and nurture skills needed to grow healthy fruits and vegetables. This garden alliance proudly mentors students in the Winthrop University Human Nutrition Program.

With 22 raised beds, the garden yields approximately 600-800 pounds of produce annually. The harvest is given to food insecure students at the University and to community food pantries in York County, SC.  Master Gardeners are available at RHECG, which is located at 954 Constitution Blvd., from 9 - 10 a.m. on Saturdays to support program participants.
