4H and School Gardening Support
Master Gardeners of York County provide educators across all educational platforms 'hands-on' group and individual learning experiences that promote a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, and cultivate the growing minds of children. We use a diverse library of resources that will prepare teachers and leaders to engage students successfully in fun gardening exercises. The learnings highlight plant science, growing plants (nutrient dense vegetables, companion plants, flowers, herbs, berries, and fruit), preparing recipes, and gardening fitness. The curriculums include Junior Master Gardener, SC Farm to School, 4-H Activity Guides, SC Farm Bureau, and Growing Minds Farm to School. These resources equip educators with turnkey lessons that may be utilized to meet educational requirements and standards given time restraints and available resources.
