Master Gardener president Karen Loach and Lisa Waldon Co-coordinator of the PAR Garden on Straight Talk Radio WRHI/CN2 (April 10, 2026).
On April 10, Karen Loach and Lisa Waldon from the Master Gardeners of York County (MGYC) joined host Ashley Lang on Straight Talk. Karen and Lisa, president of MGYC and co-coordinator of the Betsy McLean Plant A Row for the Hungry garden, respectively, offered highlights of the master gardener program and the many tri-county service activities in which the organization is engaged. They touched on Ask A Master Gardener, youth gardening education, and other community gardens.
Karen and Lisa also conveyed details of the MGYC plant sale that celebrates Earth Day Birthday. They mentioned that the event helps to fund our Lannie Love Educational Scholarship and educational garden grants.
Featuring a selection of hardy perennial favorites grown and nurtured by masters gardeners, the plant sale will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the York County Material Recovery Facility, 1500 McFarland Road, York. Children are welcome to come and join in a gardening activity, too.
