Membership for Master Gardeners from States other than South Carolina

Master Gardeners from states other than South Carolina -

will be required to audit and successfully complete the Clemson Extension Master Gardener Training Course.  There is a charge for the course.  Individuals will also need to agree to provide 40 hours of educational service under the guidance of the Clemson Extension Agent to receive initial certification as a South Carolina Master Gardener.

A Master Gardener who is currently auditing the training course or plans to audit the next available course may apply for membership in the Master Gardeners of York County.  A letter of recommendation from the previous Extension Agent and a copy of the Master Gardener Certification must be forwarded to the York County Clemson Extension Agent and the President of the Master Gardeners of York County at president@yorkmg.org.  The transferee is eligible to participate in the Master Gardeners of York County while auditing the Clemson training course or waiting to complete the Clemson requirements for a period of one year.  Upon payment of dues the individual will have all rights, responsibilities, and privileges of membership with the exception of providing educational service to the public during the transitional period.
