Volunteer Opportunities for Master Gardeners

The following activities are currently available for volunteers to earn hours toward their certificates and are opportunities to help spread information in the community about good conservation techniques, plant information and landscaping assistance. Other volunteer opportunities become available throughout the year.

Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale

Opportunities to plant, cultivate, nourish, and transport plants for the sale

Opportunities to produce cloth bags to hold information given to attendees

York Soil and Water Conservation District
Master Gardeners are invited to help instruct elementary school children about plants and vegetable gardening. Volunteers can help teach the monthly lessons and/or assist with planting and harvesting. Participating schools are in York County’s four school districts. Training provided.

Rock Hill Educational Garden
Located on Winthrop University's campus across from District 3 stadium. 
Hours of Operation:  Saturday 9 to 10 AM.
The Rock Hill Educational Community Garden provides a place for community agencies, non-profit groups, students, teachers, and individuals to learn about the importance of gardening using organic methods and the value of working together to produce fresh food for those in need.
